The Resort Municipality of Whistler has redeployed existing staff members to work alongside bylaw officers as Information Ambassadors in the community.
The ambassadors will educate the public entering parks about park closures and the need for physical distancing, including the new guidelines for the Valley Trail.
According to the guidelines, no groups are allowed on trails and dogs must be leashed. When passing users going in the same direction, trail users will need to ensure at least 2 metre of space to pass.
When passing users going in the opposite direction, people are requested to move to far right of trail and walk in single file.
People are asked to avoid the Valley Trail during busy periods.
Whistler is also reminding people about regulations around e-bikes, which were developed last year.
Those on Class 1 e-bikes are allowed on most off-road trails, except Rainbow Mountain and Mount Sproatt trails above Flank Trail.
Meanwhile, Class 2 or 3 e-bikes can go on municipal roads or the highway, but not the Valley Trail.
