The Fur-Bearers, a non-profit society, is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the person or persons responsible for poisoning coyotes and dogs in the Pemberton Meadows area.
Conservation Officers announced yesterday they were investigating the suspected poisoning of two coyotes and several dogs in Pemberton.
It is suspected meat was poisoned and used as bait.
“It is disturbing that someone is intentionally trying to harm domestic animals or wildlife with poison, which can be a slow and painful death,” said Lesley Fox, executive director of The Fur-Bearers, the non-profit offering the reward.
“The individual or people behind the poisoning are putting every domestic and wild animal as well as people at risk.”
The Fur-Bearers are hopeful that a reward will help bring attention to this case, and lead investigators to those who committed this crime.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or the Report All Poachers and Pollutors (RAPP) line at 1-877-952-7277.
Reports can also be filed online at https://forms.gov.bc.ca/environment/rapp/.
