2-year-old injured in accident in Garibaldi Highlands

Squamish RCMP are seeking witnesses to an incident in Garibaldi Highlands where a two-year-old was hit by a vehicle.

The incident occurred on The Boulevard at Highlands Way North around 2:30 pm, when Squamish RCMP were called about a toddler hit by a vehicle on a crosswalk in the neighborhood.

Upon arrival, police determined a two-year-old boy was riding his bike into the intersection when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle.

The boy was transported to hospital and later released with soft tissue injuries. The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.

Police continue to interview witnesses and are asking them to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100.
