BC Ferries is increasing service on the Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay)–Sunshine Coast (Langdale) route from today to better match capacity with demand and meet the community’s needs.
The additional sailings six days per week from Sunday-Friday will be:
8:20 pm departing Langdale
9:15 pm departing Horseshoe Bay
BC Ferries is strictly adhering to provincial and federal health guidelines during this gradual resumption of service. It continues to advise customers to follow the directives and guidance provided by the Province of B.C. and Transport Canada.
Safety measures in place include limiting passenger capacity by 50 per cent to support physical distancing, allowing customers to remain in their vehicles during the sailing on all car decks, enhanced cleaning and screening of travellers.
The vehicle capacity of the vessel is not restricted.BC Ferries is monitoring usage of the additional sailings to ensure excess capacity, if any, is not placing workers, travellers or communities at unnecessary risk.
The impact COVID-19 has had, and continues to have, on the ferry system means that the company must take measures to protect the public interest in the provision of safe, reliable service to British Columbians in a financially sustainable manner.
As a result, not all service will resume as it was prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. As this situation is evolving, BC Ferries encourages customers to monitor its website for any additional changes to service.
