Survey seeks feedback on new Foundry design

June 18, 2020 9:18am

The Sea to Sky Community Services Society (SSCS) is inviting the community to give feedback on the new Foundry centre for youth that will be established in Squamish.

The society is working on designing the interior of the new centre.

The new facility will be located in the new 76-unit residential Buckley Avenue Affordable Housing Project, replacing the former Youth Resource Centre, and providing local youth with the critical care and peer connections they need, when they need them most.

SSCS said it was looking to integrate the valuable feedback which was already provided for the previous Youth Hub design consultations.

“Your feedback is critical for the success of this project, and we would love to hear your thoughts for the interior of the building. This includes anything from look and feel, to how spaces will function, and how your community is reflected,” the society said.

This survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes. There is a survey for youth and for families.

“Please complete the surveys by Wednesday June 24, 2020. Youth and families who participate will be entered into a draw for exciting prizes,” the society said.

Community members can also get involved by donating to the Foundry Squamish Capital Campaign.

“Youth in the community deserve one central place where they can go to access all the services to support and enhance their lives,” said Jaye Russell, SSCS Executive Director.

“Foundry Squamish will offer a wide range of supports and programs designed to help young people navigate everyday life, as well as through times of crisis,” she said.

Squamish is among the eight cities in BC which are getting new Foundry centres.
