District moves to Stage 2 water restrictions next week

Staff report
July 24, 2020 11:54am

The District of Squamish will move to Stage 2 water restrictions effective Monday, July 27 due to seasonal temperature increases and corresponding increases in outdoor water demand.

Stage 2 divides the community into seven areas, and provides each area with one day when they  can water with a sprinkler:

  • Monday – Valleycliffe, Hospital Hill
  • Tuesday – Downtown
  • Wednesday – Dentville, Business Park, North Yards
  • Thursday – Loggers Lane/ Finch Drive, Quest University
  • Friday – Garibaldi Highlands
  • Saturday – Garibaldi Estates
  • Sunday – Brackendale

Even numbered addresses: 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Odd numbered addresses: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Watering with a hand-held container or device with automatic shut-off is allowed on any day between 6 to 9 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.

Outdoor water use restrictions are in place to effectively manage the supply and demand of water across the community during the summer months when consumption skyrockets, district said.

To check which day you can water, view the district’s Outdoor Water Use map.
