Tim Hortons has confirmed one of the employees at the local Squamish store has tested positive for COVID-19.

The restaurant at 38930 Progress Way is currently closed.

“We can confirm the Tim Hortons restaurant located at 38930 Progress Way, Squamish, BC is currently closed. We were informed that a team member who works at this restaurant tested positive for COVID-19. We wish the employee a full recovery,” the company said.

“The health and safety of guests and team members has been our top priority throughout the pandemic. Following public health guidelines, team members who worked closely with this person are self-isolating for 14 days and will be supported through Tim Hortons corporate and restaurant owner COVID-19 compensation fund to make up for any lost wages.”

After what I saw this long weekend in Squamish this doesn’t surprise me at all. Everywhere is jammed up in Squamish by 10 am now and local lakes are over capacity. Time for our mayor and council to step up and do something

i saw so many employees do not wear mask while handling food, or if they have one is not covering their nose i had to refuse to pay for my order at DQ as they all were their mask under their neck. and
ofcourse lots of out of town visitors can be another factor .
