The District of Squamish has introduced a subsidized rate of $200 plus tax per month for camping at district campground on Loggers Lane.
The campground is located off Highway 99 at 39275 Loggers Lane between Finch Drive and Centennial Way.
The subsidized rate is for those experiencing economic hardship.
With the new rate, the district also plans to support the vehicle dwellers and others living in our community on a long-term unsheltered basis, without access to appropriate sanitation.
The campground is not intended for short-term visitors and will open for monthly rentals only.
The district said Vancouver Coastal Health would be doing outreach to the campground to ensure safety and connection to appropriate services.
There are 35 single campsites with portable toilets, dish-washing station and potable water. Shower facilities are available at Brennan Park Recreation Centre for a subsidized fee of $2 per use.
Campgrounds will be maintained on a weekly basis every Monday by Public Works staff to support a safe and healthy operation.
For availability inquiries, please visit Brennan Park Recreation Centre during registration hours or contact customer service at 604.898.3604.
The district will retain the right to evict or have anyone removed in case of violation of any district law, policy or bylaw.
Council had earlier planned to expand camping ban to all of Squamish, but the decision has now been delayed.

Yes it is. Society has gotten too me me me. A lot of these people have no other choice. Thx to council for coming up with this solution. Too bad there aren’t more spaces available 🤗
