Pemberton RCMP have seized over $256,000 dollars in Canadian and US currency and approximately 351 grams of suspected cocaine in a raid from Pemberton home.
It was the largest cash seizure in history of Whistler and Pemberton RCMP.
Staff Sgt. Paul Hayes, North Zone Commander of the Whistler and Pemberton RCMP detachments, said the arrest and seizure will significantly disrupt drug supply in the area.
Pemberton RCMP had been investigating the drug supply for a year, which led them to a home in the 7600 block of Pemberton Meadows Road on August 18.
In this raid, police took one person into custody without incident and located bundles of cash and suspected cocaine.
A 61-year-old-man from Pemberton was arrested and released from custody pending the approval of charges for offences related to possession and trafficking of a controlled substance.
Pemberton RCMP officers will continue to aggressively target people who are selling illicit drugs in the community, Hayes said.
Please contact the police if you have any information on any other suspected drug trafficking. Pemberton RCMP can be contacted at 604-894-6634 or through Crime Stoppers.
