Vehicles parked on Alice Lake Road will be towed

Staff report
September 1, 2020 1:04pm

BC Parks will not allow parking on Alice Lake Road, and vehicles parked illegally on the road will be towed.

“In order to maintain park safety and public security, all vehicles parked illegally and on road edges will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense,” BC Parks said.

Vehicles parked illegally at Shannon Falls Provincial Park will also be subject to towing at the owner’s expense. Visitors must park in designated parking lots and observe the “no parking” signs posted.

Meanwhile, vehicles parked illegally in closed day-use areas will be charged a fee for gate unlocking.

According to BC Parks, vehicles parked illegally at Stawamus Chief including the Apron parking lot will also be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.

Parking is only allowed in designated parking lots and people are being asked to observe the “no parking” signs.

On July 27, BC Parks implemented a new day-use reservation system for trailheads at Diamondhead (Elfin Lakes), Rubble Creek (Garibaldi Lake), and Cheakamus in Garibaldi Park.

A Discover Camping pass is required to access the park, but the pass doesn’t guarantee a parking spot, and visitors should plan accordingly, BC Parks says.

Meanwhile, Joffre Lake Provincial Park is closed, and all facilities, campsites, trails, parking lots, beaches, docks and marine buoys in the park will remain closed.
