The District of Squamish invites expressions of interest from businesses interested in leasing food, beverage, or retail space inside the Squamish Adventure Centre.
Located at 38551 Loggers Lane, the available commercial space measures up to 2,220 square feet and can be divided to accommodate more than one operator. It includes a 190-square-foot café counter and equipment area, plus access to an 833-square-foot patio.
The District is marketing the location as an opportunity for a business seeking exposure to residents and visitors travelling along Highway 99. The Adventure Centre also houses the Squamish Visitor Information Centre, a gift shop, exhibits and event spaces.
According to a promotional brochure released by the District, the location receives average monthly traffic of approximately 12,400 people. The brochure describes the Squamish facility as the third-busiest visitor information centre in British Columbia and says more than four million vehicles travel along the Sea-to-Sky Highway annually.
Applicants are being asked to provide an overview of their proposed business and explain how it would complement existing uses, increase visitation and help maximize the building’s potential.
Submissions must also include information about the applicant’s relevant business experience, two references and proposed lease terms. Those terms should identify the desired amount of space, proposed rent, lease length, anticipated opening date, planned improvements, and hours of operation.
The District says it may negotiate with some or all respondents after reviewing the submissions, but the expression-of-interest process does not create any contractual obligation.
The District’s brochure does not identify a submission deadline or proposed rental rate.
