Grizzly bear attacks man on trail near Pemberton

The BC Conservation Officer Service is investigating after a 36-year-old man was attacked by a grizzly bear in a remote area north of Pemberton.

The attack occurred near the North Creek Cabin along the North Creek Trail near Pemberton.

The man was among a group of three people when he was attacked. He is in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The group called for help using an inReach device at approximately 6 pm, and was airlifted out of the area by Pemberton Search and Rescue.

The Conservation Officer Service is asking people to avoid this area.
