Vehicles blocking snow removal equipment in Garibaldi park will be towed

Staff report
November 18, 2020 5:33pm

BC Parks will tow vehicles that block snow removal equipment in the Garibaldi Provincial Park.

BC Parks said a snow-removal grader requires a minimum of 20 feet of road width to operate.

“Vehicles blocking snow removal equipment on road will be towed at the owners’ expense,” BC Parks said.

Winter road conditions can also be expected in the park, and users must have winter tires and carry chains when going to the provincial park.

Vehicles are also advised not to park on Ring Creek Road as they may be subject to towing by the District of Squamish.

Chains are also mandatory as per posted signage as well as direction by park staff.

Failure to comply will lead to $115 fine and possible eviction from the park.

Meanwhile, park gates are now also closed for the season at Brandywine Falls Provincial Park.

“Parking in front of the gates or along Highway 99 is prohibited and vehicles will be towed at owners expense,” BC Parks said.

Please correct which area of the park this is referring to. I believe rubble creek will have no snow removal equipment working this year.
