Squamish RCMP arrest individual for threatening to bear-spray resident

staff report
November 26, 2020 11:26am

Squamish RCMP have arrested an individual for threatening to bear-spray another person.

On November 17, an unknown individual approached a person sitting in their car and threatened them with bear spray.

This incident happened in the 1200 block of Main Street in Downtown Squamish.

The individual then kicked the side of the person’s car before leaving.

The victim called 911 for assistance and the police responded quickly and were able to arrest the person.

The matter is now before the courts.

Meanwhile, Squamish RCMP also urge caution as the number of bike thefts are on the rise in town.

“Register your bike with @Project529BC if you can, take pictures including serial number, and secure your bike,” Squamish RCMP said.
