Lotto Max ticket worth $161,393.80 sold in Whistler

staff report
December 9, 2020 7:18am

A second-place Lott Max ticket worth $161,393.80 was sold in Whistler.

The winning ticket matched six number plus the bonus number for the Lotto Max draw that took place on Tuesday, December 8.

The winning numbers for yesterday’s Lotto Max are 5 13 14 21 36 37 43. The bonus number is 40.

This year in May, a Whistler resident, Francis Masculino, won $500,000 on a Lotto Max ticket he picked up at the Squamish Walmart.

“This means I can spend more time at home with my kids,” said Masculino, who noted that the life-changing win means he can work one job, instead of two.

On November 30, a Squamish woman, matched six out of seven numbers to win $1 million in the October 30 Lotto Max draw.

Ashleigh Preston had also purchased her ticket at the Walmart in Squamish and said she decided to buy the ticket on a whim.

Preston said her priority is to put her winnings into savings, though she had ordered a new Ford Explorer, a vehicle she has always dreamed about owning.

Her family would also like to visit the Caribbean once it’s safe to travel.

In 2019, BC lottery players claimed $785 million in winnings, with over $230 million from Lotto Max prizes, according to British Columbia Lottery Corporation.

Lotto Max is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Tuesdays and Fridays after 7:30 pm.
