Sewer flushing in March in Garibaldi Highlands; keep toilet lids down

Staff report
March 4, 2021 2:24pm

District is conducting sanitary sewer flushing and inspection in Garibaldi Highlands..

The flushing and closed circuit TV inspection of sanitary sewers in Garibaldi Highlands is underway.

The work will continue thorough March, and detailed notices will be delivered to residences 48 hours in advance.

Please expect minor traffic disruptions.

Residents should be aware that during the flushing and cleaning operations of the sanitary sewer mains, there is a chance that the additional pressure in the sewer can cause splashing of water in toilets at houses with inadequate venting.

Any splashing that does occur is strictly from water in the toilets and not from actual sewage in the mains.

To minimize potential disruption, residents should keep their toilets flushed and toilet lids down.
