VCH hiring in Squamish for COVID vaccination clinics

Staff report
March 23, 2021 12:32pm

Vancouver Coastal Health is hiring people in Squamish to join the Vaccination Travel Team in support of the Immunization Campaign.

These jobs start as early as Monday, March 29, and are also available in Whistler, Pemberton, Powell River, and Sechelt.

Some positions will pay anywhere from $18.59 to $20.56 per hour, and may continue until January 2022.

If needed, VCH will cover accommodations, travel and transportation to and from work expenses along with a per diem or stipend.

As more COVID-19 vaccines arrive in BC, Vancouver Coastal Health is also looking for staff to support immunization teams at clinics in Sea to Sky, North Shore, Vancouver, Sunshine Coast, and Bella Bella and Bella Coola.

VCH says it is actively recruiting for casual, temporary part-time and temporary full-time positions for these clinics.

VCH is hiring for these medical positions: Retired nurse, nurse practitioners, dental hygienist immunizer, Registered nurse, and Registered Psychiatric Nurse.

Program assistants and screeners are also needed to fill non-clinical positions.

Health care student immunizer, medical student immunizer, pharmacy student immunizer, and ESN immunizer are some other jobs available.

VCH is also building a pool of select health-care professionals who can support COVID-19 immunization clinics.

These include dentists, midwives, naturopaths, pharmacists, physicians, podiatrist, and other medical staff.

The health and safety of those hired will be a VCH priority, the health agency said.

“The critical steps to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmissions in the workplace include early identification of cases, prompt isolation, testing and monitoring, and proper infection prevention and control practices,” VCH said.
