VCH encouraging Squamish seniors to get COVID shot

Staff report
April 7, 2021 6:17pm

As part of Phase 2 of B.C.’s immunization roll-out, VCH is urging local seniors who haven’t received the COVID-19 shot to get vaccinated.

As of April 7, approximately 75% of the coastal rural senior population is now vaccinated, VCH says.

VCH is now encouraging the remaining eligible 70+ senior population to get vaccinated this week in the following communities:

Squamish – April 8

Texada Island – April 8

Sechelt – April 8 and 9

Bowen Island – April 10

For this week only, in these rural communities, eligible seniors aged 70+ are invited to drop-in to receive their vaccination if they do not already have an appointment booked.

Please bring your ID and personal health number. You will not need to book an appointment for these four clinics this week.

VCH will be opening additional appointments the week of April 25.
