Motorcyclist ticketed for running red light on Highway 99

Staff report
May 27, 2021 8:27am

Squamish RCMP has issued a traffic violation ticket to a motorcyclist for running a red light on Highway 99.

The motorcyclist hit a truck after running a red light at Valley Drive and Highway 99. The incident happened on May 23, just before 6 pm.

The motorcycle driver received minor injuries and was issued a violation ticket for failing to obey a traffic control device.

The motorcycle had to be taken to a local impound as it wasn’t in a condition to be on the road.

Wallet found

A wallet was found just outside the Squamish RCMP detachment at 1000 Finch Drive on May 24.

The brown color wallet has three bank cards and international identification.  The police detachment will hold the items for 90 days.

Man arrested for possession of stolen property

On May 19, Squamish RCMP investigated a complaint of a man sleeping in a car on private property.  The man gave police a false name and had credit cards on him that didn’t belong to him.

He had also used those cards to commit fraud in town.

He was arrested for multiple offences and was released for future court appearance.
