COVID-19 cases in the Howe Sound health region continue to fall.
The latest weekly data by British Columbia Centre for Disease Control shows there were only two cases of COVID-19 from June 6 to June 12.
Howe Sound health region comprises Squamish, Britannia Beach, Whistler, and Pemberton and its rural areas.
In the last reporting period, there were just 3 cases reported in the local health region.
COVID-19 cases in the region have been declining sharply since April, when reported cases were often in the hundreds.
However, BCCDC doesn’t release any data on how many people recovered or were hospitalized in the region.
The data is not released for individual communities either.
BC is encouraging people to get registered for the vaccine.
“Getting fully immunized is the best way for us to put the COVID-19 pandemic behind us. It is how we protect our family and friends, the people at our favourite store or local theatre, as well as the communities we want to visit this summer,” the province said.
