Zero new COVID cases reported in Howe Sound region

Staff report
June 24, 2021 11:48am

COVID-19 cases in the Howe Sound health region are down to a zero.

The latest weekly data by British Columbia Centre for Disease Control shows there were zero COVID-19 cases reported from June 13 to June 19.

Howe Sound health region comprises Squamish, Britannia Beach, Whistler, and Pemberton and its rural areas.

COVID-19 cases in the region have been declining sharply. Last week, there were 2 cases reported, and three in the week before that.

The province said that while cases continue to fall there are new cases happening from community transmission every day.

“That is why, whether you live in the North, on the Coast or in the Interior, we strongly encourage everyone to get fully vaccinated as soon as you are eligible,” BC says.
