No wildfire found at Brohm River

Staff report
June 26, 2021 8:07pm

BC Wildfire Service crews haven’t found any fire at the Brohm River area.

Dorthe Jakobsen, Fire Information for Coastal Fire Service, said there was a fire reported in the area,  but fire crews were unable to find any fire.

Fire crews scoured the area on a helicopter but didn’t locate any fire.

However, the fire was listed on the BC Wildfire Service because a file is opened and listed every time a fire is reported and investigated.

“If we send crews to investigate, we have to create an incident report, and that is why it is on the map,” she said.

Jakobsen cautioned that with the heat wave in BC, the public needs to be very careful about fire.

Effective yesterday at 12 pm, all Category 2 and 3 open fires are prohibited throughout British Columbia with the exception of Haida Gwaii.
