Squamish RCMP investigating catalytic converter theft

Staff report
July 14, 2021 10:33am

Squamish RCMP are investigating a theft of catalytic converter.

On July 12, Squamish RCMP received an Online Crime Report regarding a theft of catalytic converter.

The complainant had parked their car in a pullout near Culliton Creek. When the driver came back and started the car, it sounded different.

The car was taken to a repair shop, where it was determined that the catalytic converter had been removed.

On July 10, Squamish RCMP received two separate calls for assistance from boaters and divers in Howe Sound.

RCMP worked with the Joint Rescue Coordination Center, the Canadian Coast Guard, the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans to ensure boaters and divers were safe on the water.
