Squamish RCMP have closed the Alice Lake area because of a possible drowning incident.
Nothing has been confirmed, however.

In a tweet, Squamish RCMP said the Alice Lake has been closed to the public, and the public can expect closure for most of the day.
SAR, Squamish RCMP and other agencies responded to the incident about two hours ago.

I have been to Alice Lake many times, and I see paddle Boarders and other swimming devices used without life jackets and people are swimming, paddling, boating alone. There should be a rule made, and that is to never sim alone, and to wear a life jacket or swimming belt. This is not the first drowning , in 2018 a 20 year old drowned. So it does not matter how old you are, be safe
