Watermain flushing tomorrow in Dentville and Downtown Squamish

staff report
October 25, 2021 12:25pm

Watermain flushing will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, October 26, in the Downtown and Denville neighbourhoods.

The flushing is being done to remove stagnant water and unwanted buildup within the pipes.

Pooling of water in certain areas may also occur.

However, there will be no interruptions to water during flushing, though there may be brief periods when the water becomes cloudy, discoloured or have a mild chlorine taste.

Residents who experience either of the above are asked to flush their taps by running the water until it becomes clear.

The water remains safe to drink, district says.

District flushes its watermain system each fall to maintain water quality and maximize hydraulic capacity.

Any resident who has concern that requires urgent attention from public works, should contact Operations at 604-815-6868.

The operation staff can be contacted during regular business hours, from 7 am to 3:30 pm.

Outside of regular business hours, the phone number is 604-815-4040
