Special weather statement for Metro Vancouver

Staff report
October 27, 2021 9:59am

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the North Shore and eastern sections of Metro Vancouver.

Heavy rain can be expected tonight through Thursday, and the location will be near North Shore Mountains and eastern sections of Metro Vancouver including Langley.

Rainfall amounts of 50 mm can be expected.

The heaviest rain is expected late overnight through Thursday afternoon.

“A moisture-laden system with an atmospheric river pattern will bring heavy rain to the south coast starting tonight and continuing on Thursday. Current model guidance indicates rainfall amounts close to 50 mm,” says Environment Canada.

Heavy rain will ease on Thursday evening.
