BC Parks warns about hazardous conditions at Garibaldi Provincial Park

Staff report
November 1, 2021 11:03am

BC Parks is warning the community about hazardous conditions in the Diamond Head area of the Garibaldi Provincial Park.

Expect snow, ice and steep grades on the narrow winding mountain road.

Vehicles blocking snow-removal equipment on road will be towed at owners’ expense. Grader requires minimum 20 feet of road width.

Drivers also must use winter tires and carry chains.

Drivers are also being advised not to park on Ring Creek Road as they may be subject to municipal towing.

Chains are mandatory beyond the chain up area, as per posted signage or direction by park staff.

Those who fail to comply may result in a $115 fine and possible eviction from the park.

Construction operations are also coming to an end on a new UDT facility at the Russet Lake Campground in Garibaldi Provincial Park.
