Fireworks seized by Squamish RCMP

Staff report
November 3, 2021 12:57pm

Squamish RCMP seized several fireworks while doing active patrols on Halloween night.

Fireworks were seized from people who were lighting them off in defiance of the local bylaws.

Police also responded to six fire-related calls on Halloween evening.

Officers also responded to two mischief calls involving kids knocking on doors and throwing eggs.

Impaired driver ticketed

An impaired driver was issued a violation ticker after his car almost hit an on-patrol Squamish RCMP officer.

Police say the driver was found to be impaired by drugs, though police didn’t offer any specifics.

The officer issued the driver a 24-hour driving prohibition, towed the car, and issued a violation ticket for crossing a solid line.
