A clothing donations bin has been installed at the Squamish landfill.
The donation bin by Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver is located just before the scale in the free recycling area and is actively monitored by district staff.
Donations will be accepted from 9 am to 5:45 pm daily.
Big Brothers Clothing Donation sells the donated items to Value Village stores, which offer low income families inexpensive options, with profits going toward Big Brothers programs.
“We use the funds to recruit, screen and train Volunteers, as well as further develop our programs to meet changing community needs. In other words, your donations help us match local children with positive adult mentors. In fact, clothing donation comprises over 50% of our funding,” says Big Brothers.
Here is a list of items that are accepted and not accepted.
Those with furniture or other items that can’t be accepted should contact , 505 Junk or Fresh Start Recycling and Disposal Ltd. and quote BIGBROTHERS to receive any promotions on the pickup.
