Whistler, Pemberton set rainfall records

Both Pemberton and Whistler set new rainfall records on November 14, according to Environment Canada.

 

Whistler broke an old record of 49 mm, which was set in 1939, and crated a new record at 54.7 mm.

Pemberton set a new record for 39.5 mm, breaking the old record of 33 mm or rainfall, which was set in 1948.

Village of Pemberton is asking people to avoid flooded areas in the village.

Flooding at One Mile Lake Park and Industrial Way in Pemberton has led to the closure of the park boardwalk in Pemberton.

Meanwhile, the Duffy Lake Road remains closed to traffic following a mudslide, nine kilometer north of Pemberton.
