Police investigate distraction theft in Downtown Squamish

Squamish RCMP are investigating a case of distraction theft in Downtown Squamish.

On November 12, at 2 pm, Squamish RCMP received a report of a theft committed by three people from a store in  the 38000 block of Cleveland Avenue.

The group, two women and a man, distracted the store owner and stole $1,000 worth of products.

On November 12, Squamish RCMP also received a report of a Stihl chainsaw that was stolen from a home in the 1500 block of Depot Road.

The theft happened some time over the past week and the chainsaw is valued at about $300.
