Some Save-on-Foods combo meals are being recalled from the marketplace due to the possible Salmonella contamination, according to Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
The recalled products have been sold in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon. The meals recalled by Health Canada are: Lemon chicken combo meal, Sweet & sour pork meal, Ginger beef combo meal, and the Honey garlic chicken combo meal.
Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick, says Health Canada.
Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections.
Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.
The best before dates are from December 31 to January 2.
