Squamish RCMP issued a driver a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and impounded the car after an accident in the Garibaldi Estates area.
On December 29, 2021, Squamish RCMP received a report of a single car accident at Diamond Head Road and Mamquam Road.
Officers believe the driver was intoxicated and asked her to provide breath samples, which she refused. She was fined and her car was impounded.
Squamish RCMP also issued violation ticket to a driver who drove his car into a ditch. The incident happened on January 1, when police received a report of impaired driving with the driver swerving and hitting medians.
The driver drove the car into a ditch while officers were trying to stop it. However, police say the driver was not impaired. The car was impounded and the driver was issued violation ticket.
On January 1, 2022, during the evening, officers conducted 13 road checks in the downtown area and found out that almost everyone had been drinking before driving.
