The District of Squamish will be undertaking repairs to a broken watermain on Third Avenue near the bridge to Squamish Terminals.
Work is expected to begin January 24 and will take two to three weeks to complete. It will take place on the shoulder of the roadway so impacts to traffic flow are expected to be minimal, though parking will be impacted in some areas during construction.
District is also reminding people that spaces are still available to interested residents of Garibaldi Highlands, Valleycliffe and District of Squamish residents of Paradise Valley for a free Firesmart Home Assessments.
These neighbourhoods have an increased risk of wildfire and the District’s home assessments are an opportunity to receive in-person recommendations from a Local Firesmart Representative on how to help reduce your home/property wildfire risk.
Firesmart Representatives will operate under the guidance of current Provincial Health Orders (PHO) and ensure health and safety protocols are maintained.
There are few spaces left and residents can see available dates on districts website, and book their appointment soon.
