The District of Squamish has given a notice to transfer 7,236 square feet of Dowad Drive to Polygon Development..
This area will be built out as road as part of the Garibaldi Springs Development and a sizeable retaining wall will be built on the eastern portion of the closed road, though public access will be maintained.
The District has also given notice that if Council adopts the Bylaw, it intends to transfer title of the Closed Road to Polygon Development 315 Ltd. for the purpose of consolidating the Closed Road with the adjacent parcel located at 2100 Newport Ridge Drive.
As consideration for the transfer of closed road, the District will receive $1 from Polygon Development 315 Ltd. At its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 1, the Council will consider the District of Squamish Garibaldi Springs Road Closure Bylaw No. 2873, 2021, closing the Highway Right of Way and removing its dedication.
Those affected by the bylaw can make representations to the Council and deliver a written submission to the General Manager of Corporate Services, or inform the manager of their intention to make an oral representation, by 1 p.m. on February 25.
