Pay parking in effect at Lynn Canyon park

Staff report
March 21, 2022 6:13pm

Pay parking is now in effect at the Lynn Canyon Park, a two year pilot project that will be implemented from March 1 to October 1.

One of District of North Vancouver’s most popular parks, Lynn Canyon Park attracts more than one million visitors every year. During the busy summer season, traffic leads to congestion and parking overflows in nearby neighbourhoods.

“The goal of this pay parking program is to help manage both the demand for parking, and traffic congestion in the park and surrounding neighbourhoods,” says the municipality.

The cost for parking is $3 per hour, with a three-hour maximum to encourage a higher visitor turnover rate.

However, District of North Vancouver residents are eligible to purchase a $10.20 annual DNV Park Parking Pass that will enable them to park in the lot without paying the hourly rate.

Pay parking is also in effect at Lynn Headwaters Regional Park, from March 1 to October 31 as well. Parking will cost $2 per hour to a maximum of $12 per day. Pay parking is in effect in the paved lot, overflow lots and road shoulder at the park.
