Police issue tickets to drivers speeding on Squamish Valley Road

Staff report
April 14, 2022 11:42am

Squamish RCMP issued several tickets and warnings to drivers speeding on the Squamish Valley Road. On April 9, Squamish RCMP officers were out proactively conducting speed enforcement on Squamish Valley Road.

Police said they issued ten violation tickets and warnings issued in an hour and a half of the campaign.

Meantime, ICBC is also urging people to be cautious when driving this long weekend. “Even though spring is upon us, unpredictable weather at this time of year means road conditions can still be challenging and there may be more traffic on our roads over the upcoming Easter long weekend,” ICBC said.

ICBC is asking drivers to use caution if they’ll be travelling for a getaway or to visit family and friends this long weekend. Every Easter long weekend, average of three people are killed and 610 injured in 2,400 crashes throughout BC.
