Update: Missing North Vancouver man found dead in West Van

UPDATE: A 69-year-old man missing from North Vancouver was found dead in West Vancouver.

“We are saddened to report that on April 19, 2022, the 69 year-old male reported missing in North Vancouver April 16, was located deceased in West Vancouver,” said North Van RCMP.

Police didn’t provide any details about the circumstances surround his death. West Vancouver police are now investigating the man’s death.

North Vancouver RCMP are seeking public’s help in locating missing local man, Gerald Mitchell.  Mitchell was reported missing on April 16 and was last seen in North Vancouver on April 2.

Gerald Mitchell may be in possession of a hunting rifle. Anyone who believes they have seen him or his vehicle is advised to not approach and to immediately call 911.

Police do not believe he is a risk to the public, but are concerned for his wellbeing. Gerald Mitchell is described as:

Caucasian male

69 years old

6’ tall

194 lbs.

Sandy hair

Grey eyes

Gerald Mitchell’s vehicle is described as a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, Brown in colour, and with BC Plate 2202LH.
