Sea to Sky mayors urge striking parties to come to table

Staff report
May 4, 2022 11:15am

As the transit strike now reaches the three-month mark, Mayors of Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton in a joint letter have urged both the opposing parties to come back again to the bargaining table.

How can anyone rely on public transit in Squamish? I think it’s time to stop supporting this expensive service and seek a more practical solution.

I think it’s time to fire those who are striking. I get wanting benefits and pension but striking for 3 months over 5 dollar raise is insane and too much.

If not fire then find a better solution to transport. Not everyone is able to spend 40 dollars a day for a taxi. I know I couldnt. It’s too much.
