District of Squamish is accepting applications for Permissive Tax Exemptions for 2023.
District supports voluntary non-profits by exempting land or improvements or both from taxation under section 224 of the Community Charter. Those who have previously received the Permissive Tax Exemptions will also receive notice if they need to reapply. Any organisation that demonstrates eligibility is welcome to apply for an exemption.
The deadline to apply is August 26, 2022 for exemptions beginning for the 2023 taxation year.
Furniture Sale by District
The District is also hosting a by-donation furniture sale of approximately 30-40 pieces, all of which are located at the Tantalus Fire Hall.
Metal lockers, wooden decks, sofas, microwaves, oven, fridge, office chairs and meeting tables are some of the items that are on sale. Items must be picked up from the Tantalus Fire Hall, and only cash payments will be accepted upon pick up.
