Two injured in Highway 99 accident triggered by medical conditions

Staff report
September 8, 2022 11:08am

A car accident on Highway 99 and Mamquam Road on September 7 that injured two people was triggered by a driver’s medical condition, says Squamish RCMP.

On September 7 at about 9:50 am, police responded to a multiple car accident that took place at the Mamquam Road and Highway 99 intersection.  The accident appears to be triggered by a medical condition, police say.

Two people sustained injuries, and one of the them needed to be air lifted to a Lower Mainland hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries are not known.

“This accident caused significant disruption in traffic flow,” said Corporal Angela Kermer, Sea to Sky RCMP Media Relations Officer. Squamish RCMP asks anyone with any information regarding the above to contact the local detachment at 604-892-6100, or, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to www.solvecrime.ca
