Squamish RCMP investigates theft of ‘large amount’ of lumber

Staff report
November 9, 2022 3:41pm

Squamish RCMP are investigating a theft in which large amount of lumber was stolen.

Sometime over the last week, thieves stole a ‘significant amount’ of lumber and supplies from the 39400 block of Government Road. They would have needed ample time and a big truck to steal these items, police say. As many as 124 pieces of eight foot by 2.5” by 7” Douglas Fir decking, 16 pieces of eight foot by 4” by 5” railing caps, and ten pieces of Arabica 3.36” by 19.7” wood paneling were stolen.

The value of the stolen lumber is around $10,000.  The property was in a secured, fenced area, and thieves needed time and a big truck for this theft. Police continue to investigate. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to the website www.solvecrime.ca
