Heavy rain in forecast for Squamish

February 6, 2023 9:32am

Environment Canada has issued a weather alert for Howe Sound. Heavy rain is expected in Howe Sound and Squamish.  Rainfall accumulation of 50 to 70 mm can be expected today and Tuesday.

“A robust frontal system will bring heavy rain to the BC coast. Rain will begin this morning over Howe Sound and intensify later in the day. Heavy rain will taper off to a few showers late Tuesday with the passage of the system,” advises Environment Canada.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Don’t approach washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts, the agency cautions.  To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
