The Downtown Squamish Business Improvement Association (DSBIA) is inviting the community to the Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh Squamish Together: A celebration of community on Saturday, July 1 from 10 am to 5 pm.

The outdoor event will feature live music, food and beverage, cultural performances and the X̱ex̱e7énaḵCreators Together Market along Cleveland Avenue in Downtown Squamish.

“Diversity and inclusion is at the heart of this event and we invite people of all cultures to help us shape and celebrate the richness of our community,” says DSBIA Executive Director Kerry Neil. “When we gather together we create a contagious energy and sense of community pride, and so much of that is being seen and felt in Downtown Squamish. It is our hope that this becomes a lasting legacy for Squamish to look forward to in the years to come.”

Musical guests will include Squamish Nation Welhtima Kexwusem song and dance group, Lil’wat Nation artist and performer Alex Wells, Local bands Little City Big Sound, Treaty 1, Will Ross and The Hairfarmers, plus performances by the Sea to Sky Dance Collective, a traditional self-defense display from the Squamish Sikh community, and youth and family entertainer Ira Pettle.

Food trucks will serve a variety of menu items and a craft beer garden will be open to those who are 19 and over. In addition to entertainment, the event will include a kids’ zone, community meet-and-greets and a X̱ex̱e7énaḵCreators Together Market. Squamish-based artists and makers are invited to apply for vendor space through June 15, and Squamish Together is being designed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind and is free for everyone to attend.

The public is encouraged to use transit or active transportation as a bike valet will be provided. The DSBIA wishes to acknowledge and thank BC Fairs, Festivals, and Events Fund (BCFFE) and Canadian Heritage – Celebrate Canada grant, Tourism Squamish and the Squamish Chamber of Commerce for their partnership.
