Small wildfire burning close to highway near Britannia Beach

BC Wildfire is reporting a new wildfire near Britannia Beach, close to the Sea to Sky Highway.  The wildfire was reported at 7:08 am and it’s estimated to be 0.009 hectares. The new fire, located south of Daisy Creek, is listed as a wildfire of undetermined cause, and is currently under investigation.

Meanwhile, firefighters and a water tanker were pressed in service to fight a 21-hectare wildfire burning near the Mamquam River. The Crawford Creek fire is still burning out of control at Rank 1, which is a smouldering ground fire.
