Good progress made on Mt.Seymour fire in North Vancouver

staff report
July 13, 2023 9:20am

The Mt.Seymour fire is respond to suppression efforts and good progress was made yesterday on the remote fire, says Metro Vancouver in an update. The remote fire was monitored through the night, and wildfire crews have resumed operations today.

Metro Vancouver firefighters will be back on the scene of the brush fire in Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve along with District of North Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services. There is still no risk to public safety or to residential areas, and District of North Vancouver is urging the public to stay away.

“Please stay away from the area to enable first responders to do their important work. Updates will follow throughout the day when available,” DNV said in an early morning update. The fire was first reported around 4:16 pm yesterday, and even though it’s still classified as out of control, Metro Vancouver officials are confident the small fire won’t spread.
