Charges will be recommended against a 28 year old female from North Vancouver after four officers were assaulted.
At approximately 7 pm on November 27, 2023, West Vancouver Police were called to a restaurant at Park Royal Mall for a report of a female who left without paying her bill. Officers located the female nearby and were attempting to mediate the issue when she became agitated and spontaneously attacked the officers.
It is alleged that the female kicked three officers at the scene and bit a fourth officer that was attempting to subdue her, resulting in a trip to the hospital for treatment.
“This case shows, even for routine calls, the challenges and unpredictability’s that Police Officers face” said Sgt Mark McLean.
“An officer sustained a rather serious bite to their arm that resulted in a tetanus shot and the need to take antibiotics.” “We believe alcohol played a significant role in the behavior of the accused in this case.”
