The Squamish Vegan Festival is returning to town from June 7-9, 2024, bringing over 36 hours of wellness, educational, and fun activities. This three-day, two-stage music and wellness festival promises engaging events and performances.

Local talents such as Squamish Circus Collective and Liz Sax Ceramics will showcase aerial silk performances and offer pottery workshops. Attendees can indulge in various vegan delights from Tera V Burger, including loaded vegan nachos, crunch wraps, vegan nuggets, samosas, and salads.

Nightly DJ performances will feature a mix of techno, house, trance, jungle, modular synth, and tribal music, starting at 8 p.m. on Friday and 9 p.m. on Saturday. Daytime and early evening activities include breathwork, yoga, slacklining, acro-yoga classes, fan flow, Thai massage, handstand workshops, om chanting, and sound healing.

The festival will host several notable presenters. Aaron Hiebert-Prasad, biking across Canada on a mission called Cycling For Sanctuaries, will speak about optimizing the human experience through veganism. Brigitte Gemme of Vegan Family Kitchen will conduct a vegan food demo, teaching attendees how to create delicious sauces from commonly wasted foods. Registered Dietician Desiree Neilsen will offer a plant-based nutrition talk and a signing of her new top-selling recipe book, “Plant Magic.”

The day, night, and weekend entry passes, which can be purchased on the Squamish Vegan Festival website, include all activities, workshops, and presentations. Attendees can also camp on-site. The festival bar will serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from Hoochy Booch, Geo Cider, and Howe Sound Brewing.

Organizer Tosha Lobsinger hopes the event will inspire and connect people while providing resources and fun. “This event is not just for vegans. If you are inclined towards, curious about, or enjoy plant-based foods, you will find empowerment here. Everyone is welcome!” she assures.

Festival hours are Friday, June 7, from 5 to 11 p.m., Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For the full schedule, tickets, and more information, visit squamishveganfestival.com.
