ArtWalk in Squamish from July 1 to July 28

staff report
July 2, 2024 9:02am

Now in its 9th year, ArtWalk returns to Squamish from July 1-28. Presenting over 60 artists in 23 venues–from Outbound Station in Britannia Beach to the Brackendale Art Gallery, from the Sea to Sky Gondola to the Squamish Welcome Centre–art is set to enliven spaces at almost every turn.

ArtWalk will also host a day of Studio Tours on Saturday, July 13. From 10 am to 4 pm, artists around Squamish will open their studios to the public, welcoming guests into their creative spaces to view and purchase art and engage in small art activities and demonstrations.

The Studio Tours can be self-guided–visit the ones in your neighbourhood on foot or hop on your bike and visit them all. People can also register for one of two free bus tours (morning and afternoon) departing from Brennan Park.

Additionally, Saturday, July 13 will feature two ArtWalk hubs from 10 am to 3 pm, one in Junction Park and another at the BAG, each showcasing live music (Mark Kulmala, JennaMae, Madelyn Read, Muevete Marimba and R&S Duo) and activities to whet the public’s artistic appetites and encourage them to head out on the Studio Tours.

Finally, July 13th will culminate with an ArtWalk Mixer & Afterparty at the BAG from 5 pm to 7 pm.  Artists and venues participating in ArtWalk will be in attendance, and art lovers and the art curious are invited to celebrate our talented community.

Come for the live music and conversation, and stay for the BAG’s great vibes and the new friends you make there. Admission is free. For more information about ArtWalk, visit https://squamisharts.com/squamish-art-walk/ and follow @squamish.arts on Instagram
