FortisBC begins pre-construction work on Finch Drive and Industrial Way

staff report
April 8, 2025 10:16am

FortisBC crews are set to begin additional pre-construction work along Industrial Way and Finch Drive starting the week of April 7.

According to the notice, the work is expected to last a week. It aims to identify underground utilities ahead of a planned natural gas pipeline project that will begin later this year.  The upcoming activities will include surveying, electronic roadway scanning, and hydrovac excavation using water pressure. Work hours are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, with possible Saturday work from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Drivers can expect single-lane closures on Industrial Way and alternating single-lane traffic east of Loggers Lane on Finch Drive. Traffic control personnel and signage will be in place to guide drivers safely through the area. Access to homes and businesses will remain open throughout the work, the notice says.
